Quartz countertops are made from extremely hard minerals , quartz crystals.  This makes quartz countertops extremely hard, scratch resistant and durable.  Unlike other natural stone materials, quartz is non-porous so it does not have to be sealed or re-polished, making this surface stain resistant.  Quartz surfaces do not support the growth of mold and bacteria.
